We waited several months on the list until its constellation of satellites was ready to serve South Texas with broadband service. We are happy and honored to feature him on Texas Border Business. On August 25, T-Mobile CEO and Chairman Mike Sievert and SpaceX Chief Engineer Elon Musk announced Coverage Above and Beyond. This is a revolutionary new plan to bring cell phone connectivity everywhere. Leveraging Starlink, SpaceX’s constellation of satellites in low Earth orbit, and T-Mobile’s state-of-the-art wireless network, the Un-carrier plans to provide near-complete coverage in most locations in the United States, even in many of the most remote locations previously inaccessible by traditional cellular signals. Mayor Javier Villalobos led a delegation from McAllen and recently visited Apodaca to formalize the sister city relationship with Apodaca, Nuevo Leon and McAllen, Texas, through the signing of a sister city agreement by the mayor of the city of Apodaca, Cesar Garza Villarreal, and the mayor of McAllen, Javier Villalobos. Through this agreement, the two cities have joined a long-term mutual partnership of collaboration and support in promoting business, trade and investment, educational exchange, cultural exchange, tourism promotion and the exchange of good practices. Edinburgh: Edinburgh City Council is seeking to reduce municipal taxes for its residents. At the last meeting, Mayor Ramiro Garza Jr., Pro-Tem Mayor Johnny Garcia and Council Members David White, Daniel ‘Dan’ Diaz and Jason De Leon voted to establish a proposed new municipal tax rate and set a public Hearing to be held in less than two weeks to consider its adoption. McAllen: Roel “Roy” Rodriguez, PE, City Manager of McAllen recommended to Mayor Javier Villalobos and the Town of McAllen Commissioners a significant decrease in the property tax rate for McAllen ratepayers as part of the proposed $630 million municipal budget. dollars for fiscal year 2022-2023. Penitas: Municipal officials from Peñitas and the business community, along with Hidalgo County Commissioner Everardo “Ever” Villarreal (precinct 3) and the Hidalgo County Drainage District No. 1, joined forces to inaugurate the first phase of what is expected to be a $50 million ad. development in Peñitas.

Hidalgo County: Judge Richard Cortez held a meeting where leaders and stakeholders from this community came together to devise strategies to improve the quality of life for residents of Hidalgo County.
