Back to school ! – Letter from the editor

Editor Renee Dee shares her perspective on back to school and become a lifelong learner.

Iloves back to school even more than the start of a new year. While I’m out of school, the start of the season inspires me. There are new things to learn, new events to attend and new “kids” to meet. back to school without the cafeteria and the slamming lockers.

If you don’t learn, you don’t grow.

I’ve had a new perspective on education since finishing college, and I embrace the joy of being a lifelong learning, but independently. I see the same reflected in my son. His head is buried in books and he’s learning so many resources online.

In her words, “I’m looking for wisdom, mom, and things I really need to know. I want to learn things that really matter to me that I can use and apply to my life. And it was thrilling to see him kiss learn in real life.

If you don’t learn, you don’t grow.

Like my son, I love the opportunity to learn more about things that interest me. I can’t stop talking about Master classit’s like back to school, where luminaries from all fields tell us about their lives and their journey to success. At the start of the pandemic, I binged MasterClass more than anything. The small lessons, the liveliness of the content, and the appeal of the instructors make me feel like traditional education could draw inspiration here.

I even received an art education – which taught nothing new about American history from hamilton? And who is eager to learn from the Immersive Van Gogh experience?

I’m a big podcast lover, even produce my own podcast— and I make my car my mobile university, learning between meetings.

I don’t really read fiction, I’m more of a reader of health and wellness, cookbooks, leadership, personal development, and I approach my books with more enthusiasm than any textbook I read on my way home from school. Of course, I worked hard in school and enjoyed it, and I appreciate this impressive foundation of my education. However, the real joy and adventure of all there is to learn in life year after year? The best is yet to come!
