EDITOR’S NOTE
A story written by fashion editor Aaron Kok struck a chord deep, deep, deep in my heart this month. Called “The Fashion Daddy’s Home”, it made me shudder. As I read the story, it became blindingly clear that ahem… I am that fashion daddy. Am I at that age where it’s about the new renaissance man finding his groove again? To be honest, I have never lost my love for dressing up. From a decade in wild prints and colours to another in smart tailoring, today I have reversed-agedressing by adopting a much more body hugging, skin-baring lewk. I have always embraced fashion trends and vibes. But yes, I guess I am that daddy. I admire the men Kok mentioned, from the stylish, sharply tailored threads of Colman Domingo in…
GET THE LOOK
It’s all about soft power as we enter into the month of April. The two opposing forces of strength and vulnerability are clearly shown on our cover girls and rising stars, Milk Pansa and Love Pattranite, as they are enveloped in monochromatic hues—shades that we ourselves delight and find comfort in. Whether it’s a transformable dress-jacket, or a bag with secret pockets, it’s the little details in these pieces that speak volumes. What’s more, there’s an innate sense of luxury to be cocooned in folds of butter-soft leather and gossamer-like cotton. This is the season to dress to express yourself…not for anyone else.…
URBAN COWBOY
Maybe it’s Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter Tour in effect or Bella Hadid in her Yellowstone sensibilities both onscreen and in real life, leading us to romanticise all things cowboy. From the Great Plains to the pampas, from the ranch to the rodeos, the revival of the cowboy or folksy gaucho look gives us plenty of room to translate them into chic city styles. Denims, leathers and suedes—think buckled leather belts with earth-toned tailored overalls and comfy paisley waistcoat sets topped off with widebrimmed hats—make up the key materials of cowboycore. Add a fresh twist with everyday staples and modern silhouettes; and remember, pick some important elements, while keeping the rest of the look polished, and you’re good for a rodeo in the city!…
WAITLIST
There’s a certain alchemy that runs through the halls of Chanel’s ateliers, because season after season and time and time again, they’ve found new ways to create a new bag for the world to fawn over. This year, they introduced the Chanel 25 to us, and unsurprisingly, we’re in love. First unveiled at the brand’s spring/summer 2025 runway presentation, there’s something about its practicality that speaks to the modern Chanel customer. This isn’t a bag for display, unlike the French Maison’s minaudières, but rather, it is made to be worn everywhere and to store everything. A drawstring made out of leather-woven chain opens into a spacious interior, whilst side pockets give you plenty of extra room for your knick knacks. In a trio of pastel colours—a light mint, a frothy…
THE STYLE
STYLE INSPIRATION: REESE BLUTSTEIN It has been 10 years since Reese Blutstein (@double3xposure) became a fashion content creator, and while her style has evolved and been fine-tuned, the 28-year-old from Atlanta, Georgia still gets excited playing dress up. Having her twin sister Molly (@accidentalinfluencer) in the same industry is not only fun, but inspirational as well as the duo help each other think outside of the box when it comes to styling and re-imagining looks. “We like to layer with a heavy emphasis on COLOUR COMBOS and TEXTURE. We love things that MIGHT NOT MAKE SENSE at first, but once it all COMES TOGETHER the pieces all speak to each other.” UNTAMED BLOOMS Flower power gets loud, proud, and three dimensional to boot. Designers like Ralph Lauren and Elie Saab…
UNBRIDLED JOY
Here’s an end that we’d be glad to dance to. After two long years, quiet luxury has finally been laid to rest. Well, for now anyway. And cause of death? A seeming shift that’s happening on a cultural level back to fashion that incites emotion, drives dopamine and calls for maximalist flavour. In hindsight, the writing has been on the wall for some time now. Quiet luxury started around the early months of 2023, when Gwyneth Paltrow made the courtroom her personal catwalk, parading a series of outfits that were as sombre as legal dress codes require, yet retaining a sense of chicness that felt like a breath of fresh air. There were full-skirted suits and conservative pumps on display for the world’s paparazzi to lap up. Paltrow’s quiet luxury…
