EDITOR’S NOTE
It is with a heavy heart that I write to let you know this is the final issue of ROYALS monthly. The difficult decision has been made to close the magazine, marking the end of our incredible journey together. To our readers, thank you for your support. As the only magazine dedicated to chronicling the lives and legacies of royal families from around the world, it has been an honour to serve as your eyes and ears from behind Palace walls. In our final issue we’ve left you with a question to ponder… The British royal family has always faced its challenges, but, as the world evolves at a rapid pace, can ‘the Firm’ keep up? As a special goodbye, the team has collected our favourite images from royal history,…
Royal WATCH
ANNE & CHARLES TEAM UP Always ardent supporters of each other, royal siblings King Charles and Princess Anne couldn’t miss the opportunity to join forces to pay tribute to some favourite charities. The pair welcomed heroes of the community to the palace for a reception that celebrated four charities who provide much-needed humanitarian assistance in times of conflict and disaster: International Health Partners (of which Charles as patron); ShelterBox; Islamic Relief; and Christian Aid. They were joined by Queen Camilla (patron of ShelterBox) and the Duke of Gloucester. The royals had a chance to hear stories from volunteers and see photographs taken of work being done by the Disasters Emergency Committee in countries including Ukraine, Afghanistan and Gaza. The Princess Royal has been a staunch support for her brother since…
CAN THE BRITISH MONARCHY SURVIVE?
If cancer is a word we all fear, it’s also one that can galvanise. Which is why, in years to come, the royal family might look back on this testing period and see it as the springboard for a new royal age. The ‘twenties’, as they will come to be known, will not only mark the deaths of the longest-serving monarch in history and her devoted husband, but they will also signify the beginning of a new style of monarchy. Cancer will forever underscore King Charles’ reign – however long it may last. Likewise, it will also direct Prince William’s. Because 2024 was not just the year that both the monarch and the Princess of Wales fought personal battles, it was also the year they shed their air of ‘untouchability’…

QUEEN OF STYLE
Standing in the state apartments at St James’ Palace in November 2010, as she prepared to meet Britain’s media formally for the first time, as fiancée to the heir to the throne, Kate Middleton had chosen to wear a simple blue wrap dress from London-based label Issa. The dress’ striking shimmering blue shade perfectly complimented her new sapphire and diamond engagement ring. Everyone was here to see the ring that evoked memories of William’s late mother, Princess Diana – he had wanted to include her in the occasion in some way and the focus on that sapphire blue was the perfect nod to her. In a world where every one of Princess Catherine’s sartorial choices is scrutinised from head to toe – from her chic fascinators to her beige round-toe…
